USB input question!

Hi guys, looks like you've got a great community here. I've been using Cool Edit on and off for a while, but I'm still having teething troubles. i just borrowed a Line 6 guitar port and am currently trying to get Cool Edit to detect it as an audio input. it connects through USB, and I've never used a USB input when recording before. Right now I can hear the sounds coming through my speakers, but they don't appear to be being picked up by CoolEdit. Can any of you guys help me out?

Have you tried to go to Options/Device order and set up your hardware?
