Hello all. I currently record on a Macbook Pro using a PreSonus Firestudio Project. While I am content with it at the moment, I'd like something more along the lines of a USB or Firewire mixer, especially now, as my band is beginning to experiment with vocal effects out of Live and Max/MSP, so we'd like to run the mics into the mixer which is connected to the computer, use the effects, then run them out to some speakers for rehearsals. Preferably, we'd like a minimum of 6 mic inputs as well, in case we have the sudden urge to record a demo of some ideas. Can anyone recommend me a USB or Firewire mixer within the price range of $500-700?
Also, another question: do any/all of these mixers available also function as a controller for parameters Live? for instance, could the faders/knobs on the mixer be set up so that they can control the volumes of the tracks that they are recording to in Live?
