US-2400 of Mackie Control?

Hope this is the right forum...

I have the option of a Tascam US-2400 for $800 or a Mackie Control for regular price ($1000). What would be better for use with DP, Pro Tools and possibly Logic? What are the pro's and con's of each?
 
I dunno the answer to any of your question except Mackie=8 fader Tascam US2400= 24 faders

Is this 800 bucks from a dealer or just a once in life time deal? If not I'd be in the market for one in a few months or so
 
Thanks, I have that much figured out. As for the price, it's because of a deal with Tascam, not a normal price anywhere.

Anyone have input on these two as far as features, how well they work with the programs, what functions they don't work with, etc...
