US-2000 Newbie Question

Hi all

Hopefully a very simple question for you guys

Looking at the US-2000 and wondered whether the 'hardware' inputs and outputs can be controlled from the basic Audio Midi interface? By this i mean the simple Window in 'audio devices'

Do you guys know if this is possible?

Basically I need to be able to simply change volume levels and mute from the software as i won't be local to the mixer

Inputs is the problem hence looking at the tascam - current mixer is using 10 mic inputs from the stage and has two stereo inputs for cd player and pc audio

The US-2000 only has 6 XLR inputs so if you are using 10 mic inputs from your mixer the Tascam wouldn't be a suitable replacement even with software control.

The M-audio Profire I linked to above has all of the features of the Tascam plus 2 more XLR inputs (for 8 XLR total) and software control for the same price.

Just seeing if I can configure the system for the m-audio - the Ultra track 8r is another option from m-audio too
