I have been scouring this site over the last few days, trying to get XP (with Service Pack 2) to recognize my US-122. Following the installation as detailed in the manual, I couldn't get my computer to recognize the module, even though the drivers were apparently installed, and worse, I got the "Blue Screen of Death" with a message saying that a major error had occurred, and that I should remove any newly installed software immediately. (And manning's anti-USB posts started to make me even more nervous )

Anyhoo, just to let anyone in my predicament know, on the Tascam site, in the US-122 forum, there is a post relayed by a member from a Tascam tech about how to deal specifically with XP. (You will have to reboot and encounter the 'Add New Hardware' menu three times.) Following THESE instructions, I was successful, and everything seems to work great.

Yep, Conrad, had to do the very same thing over here, and all is working well... so far. I have read a lot of bad stuff about the US-122, and although I agree there are some insatllation complications, its a neat little piece of hardware for what you pay.
