To anyone who uses the US-122 USB Audio/MIDI Interface:

Does it go allright?
What are the pros and cons of it?

thanks

I really like mine. The mic pres are clean and neutral. Some people have trouble with the USB interface.

Hey, it's you! I read heaps of your comments when I did a search. 122 seems ok, but I don't know about the usb

I have one too, and bought it as much for the insert points as anything else. I've had no problems with it, and don't know what you mean about 'the usb'. It only records two tracks at a time so it certainly stays within the limits of USB 1.1, and for playback the stereo buss is good sounding.

It's built like a brick, and as apl said it has good mic pre's.

What more could you ask for?

Some people (like me) have issues with usb, through no fault of the device itself, but through their motherboard's implementation of usb

I have been looking into the Presonus Firebox...it sounds pretty good. It is a firewire connected sc/pre/phantom so it might be more stable and reliable.

That's a very nice unit, probably my next. The Firewire does have a better rep than USB.

Do you know, apl, if the Firebox is compatible with Guitar Tracks Pro3? GTP3 is a Cakewalk piece of software.

It should be compatible with just about any software (except ProTools). Double check with presonus if you aren't sure. The US-122 works with other software, as well.

thats a good way of putting it. onmy laptop, the us122 worked awsome. on my desktop, however, the nvidia network drivers are corrupted and neither works.... bizarre. thank God for dual-boot! (or hardware profiles to a lesser extent).

I really like my M-Audio MobilePre which is less than the TASCAM and I don't know what the big difference is :)

My 2 cents

The mobilepre only supports 16-bit recording. The us-122 can do 24-bit.
