US-122 to firepod - can I use my current LE?

I'm currently using a Tascam US-122 with cubase LE ver 1.0.7, and am looking to upgrade to the Firepod. The Firepod comes with LE, although I'm sure its a newer version.

My questions:

Do I have to install the LE that comes with the Firepod if I'm already using it with the US-122?

Will my current 1.0.7 version of LE allow me to use all 8-10 inputs of the Firepod simultaneously?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

The older versions of LE limit you to 4 tracks simultaneously.

Both will work fine but if you want 8 tracks you'll probably have to use the new version.

Justing hijacking the tread a little . . .

You might want to look at the new FireStudio instead of the FirePod. It has a few more features, and comes bundled with a nifty little software package including, off the top of my head, Cubase LE, Reason Adapted, BFD Lite, Drummagog Lite, and a couple of other things.

I'm waiting for mine . . .

Thanks for the tip. The firepod is at about the price ceiling of what I wanted to spend. The package I bought was 479 w/ free shipping and comes with an AT 20-20 condenser and a presonus headphone amp, so I went with it.
