You won't regret it. I don't care for the URS comps from what I tried either, although testing wasn't extensive. I like stuff that is easy to work with and gets results right away. If it can sound okay but it takes forever to get the right setting, than I'd rather use something where I get the result I want right away before my brain goes numb from A/B'ing the same thing over and over again.
I like the non mix eq's because they are much faster than a parametric. You don't have to F around with bandwidth at all, and frequency it's like "300 isn't working, 500....yeah that's it, let's try 700 just to make sure.....nope, 500 it is". It doesn't work when you need to get surgical, or once in awhile you can tell that the frequency you want is in between 2 of the set frequencies, but most of the time it seems to work for me.
