Gone
If you are returning to me both the Submitter contract and the Co-Creator contract...here is how things work!
YOU are the submitter. You are the BBS member and the reason why the song is on the comp CD.
On the submitter CD where it says, "I ________________ of _______________" you are to fill in YOUR name and YOUR town & state. Where you see a line with your name under it, sign your name.
On the Co-Creator CD where it says "I ______________ of ______________" the co-creator is to fill in HIS name and HIS town & state.
I realize that there is confusion over the term co-creator. I did not use this term to undermine the importance of the role of the co-creator.
What's happening here is that the co-creator, even if he is the main writer of the song, is signing over the rights to this song to you as the submitter. This is NOT an exclusive sign-over, and that person still maintains full rights to the song everywhere else.
In essense, you are part of a company here. You are part of the Homerecording.Comp company. Everyone in the "group" specified on the submitter contract is equally responsible for this CD. You are part of this group. The co-creator is not.
If the person who's material you're submitting has a problem with this, please send him/her my way! Email me at hr_comp_cd@hotmail.com ... and remind them that they are not signing over exclusive rights to their song...and that they benefit from exposure and YES they do get mentioned on the CD. AND this CD is to catalog the efforts of the people recording at the homerecording.com website. This is not intended to be a profit/business deal. All 21 group members have a say in how this thing is run!
Thanks,
Slackmaster 2000
