URGENT!!!!! Hercules Firewire Instillation Problem

I'm trying to connect a Hercules Firewire Interface to an iMac with an OSX 10.4. The CD used to install the drivers won't get past "Running Installer Script" and says has an error and to repeat the instillation process. I've tried downloading new drivers from the Hercules website which also wouldn't install correctly. How do I get my computer to recognize the interface, because when I plug it in it doesn't show up anywhere on the computer as anything.
 
If there's a 'Read me' file that came along with the new drivers, read it.

In my experience you don't connect the interface until the last stage of the installation.

Also, are you sure the drivers you downloaded are for OSX 10.4?
 
they are for 10.3 but i figured it would work since my computer is 10.4. i did read the read me.
 
Dunno about the Mac, but with winXP you have to run a hotfix before installing if you use SP2. SP1 is fine though.

There have been significant changes in every generation of OSX. Are the 10.4 drivers not on the web site?

i tried to install the ones for 10.4 but they wont install correctly. ahhhhhhh.
 
Is the problem detailed in your first post with the 10.3 drivers? Or the 10.4?

Try it again by uninstalling the non-working drivers, then downloading just the ones for 10.4 from the Hercules web site.
