Hi I've been using a UREI 1176LN a black face E revision. Does anyone know how the attack control is supposed to behave on these, is it very subtle? On mine the attack control seems to do very little, apart from when the attack and release are set on fast, the attack appears to add a little bit of distortion to the signal. It just doesn't seem to do a lot where ever its set. Is this normal or is it needing a repair?
The timing on 1176's has always been "subtle", and you always get a bit of distortion when you try to set them for their fastest times... however, there are more than a couple of companies that do modifications to 1176's... on that I would highly recommend is the one performed by Alactronics in Wellesley, Massachusetts.
