yes, mine is the S as well. black on one side, silver on the other. built like a friggin tank.

FWIW, i took the thing apart as soon as i got it in the house--the diaphragm looks to be identical to the one they use in the 835. it's prolly not the same one, but *visually* they look to be one in the same to me.

i also had a visit from ups today. a nice big pair of wharfdale 8.2a monitors on my step when i got home :) . i was really expecting to get home and find a little card through my door saying "we have returned your order to the holding department". Nothing like that feeling of walking round the corner to see a big package on your doorstep.Tomorow, the arrival of cubase and m-audio key61es. i cant wait :eek: .



i also got a e609( the non silver one) the other day. tiny!

when the UPS man came to my door he charged me 116 quid for the duty tax (or something) for getting the gear out of america. I was not a happy chappy, the bugger woke me up too. But now atleast i have my microphones :)
 
I find gear lust to be thoroughly unsatisfying phenomenon.

The thrill tends to last maybe all of 10 minutes for me before reality kicks in and I realize whatever I just bought doesn't really "do" anything.

I mean, sure, I stare at it and I stare at it ... but it just sits there. No cool tricks or anything. I plug it in and maybe a power light goes on, at the most. Mics are worse, because they don't even do that much. What a letdown. Why didn't I just get a puppy?

Yup, but the point is all about the LUST part. It's like Tantric Sex. The final receipt of the lusted item is merely the conclusion of the euphoric journey.

My weakness is compressors and mics lately. I have enough compressors, but still long for more...and as far as mics go, that list will never be complete.

today, my band's shirts arrived! thank god, right before our biggest show ever, with the Used and My Chemical Romance and a buncha other bands i'm not really into but I am unBELIEVEable stoked to play with.

yesterday, my new Seymour Duncan convertible 100 combo amp--what a wierd little guy...

the end of this week, my new MP20!

It's sooo exciting walking home and seeing the UPS truck around the corner-- both times I've juuuust missed him getting here. I love it, and it'll never end
