Thinking of buying/upgrading to a M-Audio Delta 1010LT PCI Interface card. Am I correct in assuming this will also act as sound card and replace the Audigy sound card I currently use?
the only thing i don't particularily like (and this is more a problem with me than a problem with the card) is that the 1010lt doesn't have miniplug headphone and mic jacks.. i know the reason for this, but i needed to buy an expensive usb headset w.mic to use w. my pc, which kinda sucks.

nope. i can't think of a way... unless you could run the 1010 and a soundblaster card or something simultaneously... but i don't know if that'd work; someone around here could probably clarify/confirm this.

Yes, it can be done, but I'll have to check and see if I have enough PCI slots open. I guess if you want to play games or listen to cds through your computer you just run the sound out through your monitor speakers. Shouldn't be a big deal.

If I were you, I wouldn't spend $200 on a PCI device at this point. PCI is going the way of the dodo. PCI Express (PCIe) is replacing it over the next handful of years, and PCI cards won't work in PCI Express slots.
I'm about to sell 1010LT.... The quad G5 PowerMac I'm about to buy is PCIe-only. PC motherboards with PCI will start to be hard to find (and more expensive) within the next... probably three or four years....
Buy a FireWire interface. If you don't have a FireWire card, spend $20 and get one and put that in the PCI slot instead. At least when you buy your next computer, you'll be sitting on a $20 doorstop instead of $250.
