Hey guys,
i just started recording my drumset with a Tascam US-1641, 2 AKG Perception 170's as Overheads, a Cobalt CO9 and a Rode NT-1A as bassdrum microphones.
The room i play in is pretty small, its in the basement and aswell used for any kind of stuff where saw or hammer is needed
Theres a bit of Acoustic Foam in it, and ill build basstraps (foam) for the 2 free corners soon.
My question is: is it useful to upgrade to full micing of the drumset in the future?
My Kit is an unknown Premier one, Troy Cymbals, Spaun Snaredrum. After applying new drumheads it sounds pretty good.
Ill upload a current recording and if needed a photo of the room the next days.
You may have noticed my microphones arent expensive, and if youd like to suggest an update, make sure its not too expensive aswell
