now i see why a low noise floor is so important. thanks dude. :)

theres a AC97 chip on this computer and its getting a -74.8 noise floor.......

Jotosuds, based on your previous comments I think you were already aware that a high noisefloor is bad and you are trying to remedy it (with the new drivers). :)

My comments were for Savoy (sdsi).

BTW: until the noisefloors on the Creative soundcards in question are as low as the noisefloor on good Audio Cards, it is impossible by definition to get a good recording from one.

Have you even listened to the sample I posted??

sdsi, your recording with the SB Live sounds just fine, as far as I can tell with a mp3. Apparently the card is working well for you. Other sound cards may indeed sound "better" or spec out higher, but your results show that the song, performance and engineering are far more important than the gear used.

I appreciate the honest criticism.

Some SBLive tunes.

Everything except Gloomy Sunday was recorded with an SBLive! - I used the digital input, however.

Hey, if it works for you - it works.

Good luck.
