Hey i been recording wit an Emu 1212m card for about a year now and its kind of gettin old, i mean it always messes up and i can only record 1 channel at a time, i was looking towards buying a better sound card, Its for Rap and R&B if that matters.

I have a Voicemaster Pro, Mxl 990 BUT my Rode K2 should be in this week. So might as well say that haha. I just think my soundcard could be better so what CARD is a MAJOR JUMP from the EMU 1212m, I have a 500 limit...

Please Recomment USB or FIREWIRE INTERFACES if u think it'd be the best way to go, thank u

For $500.... nothing would be a huge improvement over that card...might wanna look at some decent monitors if u dont have any right now.

Well if you can only record one Track at a Time then there is something definately wrong with your Setup as you should be able to record Many Tracks at the same time with the 1212M.....

Maybe you should work on trying to get your 1212m working properly then your Problems should be solved.....

If you really have your heart set on getting a new interface and would rather not try to trouble shoot your EMU and would rather sell it then maybe you can look into a Firewire Mixer interface (Don"t go USB as USB sucks)....

You can get a 12 to 16 Channel Firewire Mixer Made by Alesis for about that price range that will let you record 12 to 16 Tracks at once to your PC at the Same Time......

It can be used as a 16 Channel Firewire Interface Or as a Standalone Analogue Mixer...my friend rescently bought one and he is very happy with it and the recordings he has made with it have been very good quality....

Cheers
