updating chipset drivers (via 4in1)

I just formatted and installed XP Pro, most updates EXCEPT SP2.

Now, I'm on to my chipset driver upgrade.

I really can't seem to figure out what to use.... www.viaarena.com has 2 options, the newest "4in1" or the newest "Hyperion 4in1". Can somebody who knwos about computers tell me which one to do? haha. I'm at a loss. My chipset isn't listed as "recommended" in either of those 2 drivers, it's like its inbetween the 2 recommendations.

The Hyperion drivers are suitable for any VIA chipset.
They are just more optimized for the latest chipsets.
All in all .... I'm sure you would do fine with either the Hyperion or the Retro drivers.

shack, even though i'm in the computer industry for years,
new driver versions can sometimes be fickle.
to be safe i would suggest you contact asus as well as the manufacturer of your sound solution to be safe.

Use the hyperion drivers. It's just the newer set and should work fine. If not, use it as an excuse to build a new computer.
