Hope this chart is helpful to someone. 2-inch is what I chose to go with in my tiny studio. The prices are in Nashville, TN

3.0 PCF, Plain, 2" 125Hz 250Hz 500Hz 1000Hz 2000Hz 4000Hz NRC $/ft2
John Mansville 0.24 1 1.11 1.08 1.06 1.05 1.05 $0.86
Owens Corning 0.17 0.86 1.14 1.07 1.02 0.98 1 $0.97
Knauf 0.29 0.65 1.11 1.13 1.06 1.03 1 $0.64
Certainteed 0.21 0.73 1.08 1.04 1.04 0.96 0.95

6.0 PCF, FSK/FRK, 2" 125Hz 250Hz 500Hz 1000Hz 2000Hz 4000Hz NRC $/ft2
John Mansville 0.49 0.26 0.68 0.47 0.33 0.22 0.45 $1.93
Owens Corning 0.6 0.5 0.63 0.82 0.45 0.34 0.6 $1.99
Knauf 0.77 0.5 0.72 0.58 0.53 0.41 0.6 $1.46
Certainteed no foil-faced found
If specs are all you're looking at, go with John Manville for 3.0 PCF high-freq. absorber and Knauf for 6.0 PCF low-freq. absorber.

Glad to see others checking out the JM products. I've talked about it several times but no one seemed interested. :D :D

FYI, I'm paying 75¢ a sq. ft. for the 2" JM here in Fort Worth.
