Soooooo...

KRK Rokit 5's or Yamaha hs50m's??

I'm looking at both of these, and I know the yammies are more expensive, but I've read that they can weaken bass quite a bit and people tend to over-compensate. A friend of mine has the KRKs and is happy with them, but I figured I'd take my question here! Any opinions/advice?

They're both in my price range ($300-$400) so that's good. Also, if there's any other monitors in that range that you think are good, feel free to suggest 'em!
 
I have a pair of Rokit 5's, and they are pretty spectacular! I have never used the hs50m's, but I am sure if you go with the Rokits you will be quite pleased

Are you in a position that you can go listen?
Maybe bring a CD that you know really well and A/B the 2 pairs.
It ain't gonna be like they'll sound in your particular room but it'll help.

No also have a pair of behringer truths for a/b-ing but don't use them much.
Do have a bass bin on the monitors thou!

One is from a company that only makes monitors...and the other has put pairs in more pro studios than any other brand...either way you can do worse...Id go with Yamaha but save more for the model with the 8" drivers.

I have never used Yamaha. BUt I bought my KRK's online just on reputation and I love them. I really think you'll be happy with that purchase.
