Upcoming metal track - request for honest opinion

Hi all,

Together with my bud Phil we are working on new metal song. I know that there are some minor bugs to repair (like pinch harmonics in breakdown which are a bit lame), but because I'm not a specialist in the manner it would be great to get some opinion on the mixing.

Here it is:

https://soundcloud.com/s_t_i/annaalter3-final1/s-MPKQS

I used:

Hardware:
- Ibanez GIO – GRG121EX
- Lexicon Alpha
- Sennheiser HD201

Software:
- Cubase 5
- EZDrummer 2 (Progressive EZX2)
- Spectrasonic Trillian

And many many other VST plugins...

Thanks!

Hey man, really good energy. Good playing/thrashing. The guitars are pretty well mixed considering how many there are, but I'd automate that low one in the beginning. Make it a bit higher then drop it when the others come in. Kick could go down a bit and bass guitar up, though maybe not if you're going for the thin thrash sound. Reminds me of Slayer. Will there be lyrics? Not sure about it as a 4.5 minute instrumental.

First of all, thank you for your opinion, and these advices, for sure I will consider this!

Second of all - yes, right now my buddy Phil is writing lyrics, and soon I will work on mixing some growl vocals into this ;)

Seems good so far.
Obviously, it needs those vocals or some other lead instrument to be finished. But as a rhythm bed, it seems like it's in a pretty good place.

Really liked it. Very cool section before the final chorus that includes an unexpected note bend, sounds really good. The lead guitar melody in the chorus is great as well. Well thought out song, so far. Please do post the vocalized version when ready. Mixwise, bass doesn't come through as clear as it could - there's quite a bit going on down there, so maybe there's room for it somewhere? Nice work
