I would be grateful for comments on the mix...
I am not a very good musician so, please excuse the flubs..

This is my own work...
1968 Martin 000-18 Acoustic...Two tracks..one mic through a numark pre/mixing board...then into the soundcard...
Cakewalk Pro 9....
a little chorus and verb on the lead and a slight verb on the rhythmn guitar
synth strings are from my el-cheapo casio CTK-550

Thanks..

A 68' 000-18 eh? Very cool. I have a 55' 000-18 and love it.
A decent tune, that's for sure. Lots of hiss in there though which surprises me given that you're recording in the computer. May be the Numark pre's. Who knows. At the beginning when the lead guitar comes in, it JUMPs out and not in a good way and I can hear a compressor working REAL hard. I'm not trashing your efforts here, just a few things that're hard to ignore though.

Hi Track Rat,
Yup.
A 68'...flawless condition...wonderful tone but,
damn...I gotta get the hang of this stuff (recording...ya know?)
Thanks for listening...
My equipment is old and worn....
I do not use the filters on the Numarc because it seems to minimize the signal too much....my cables might be culprit though as well..

Same old story for me...
I need gear.
Thanks again,
Joe

The Chorus and Reverb can cause that Hiss.Try doing a mix without any effects and see how much the hiss level reduces.
