up grading to sonar ver 2 is BS

i think its bullshit i have to pay for ver 2.. that should have been
FREE...... whos the gerk who said lets charge for this one
 
Hmmm.... free? Why? Even the programmers at Cakewalk need food...

Of course, I would very much like it if Sonar 2.0 was free! Of course, I don't have all the money I need, so I wouldn't mind a very good app for free. But not in this world...

In an ideal world we all would own the studios of our dreams..

I think its bullshit effectsnut put out a new CD and is charging for it!! who does he think he is? Why should he get paid for hours spent recording, mastering and making CD's?. I bought his last CD!!! WTF??!?

he means that the uses who have 1.3 should not pay for an upgrade if they are registered...sounds nice and i would like for that too but it will never happen.
 
The upgrade IS free if you purchased 1.3 within a specified time frame......

Why?

Sonar 2.0 is a new product that took considerable time to develop - they should charge people for it to recoup there time and efforts. Its called doing business.

1.3 was a minor update/bug fix to 1.0 - thats why it was a free download for Sonar 1.0 users.

You're comparing apples to oranges here.

i bought ver 1.3 THREE months ago.. ITS ONLY FREE
IF YOU BOUGHT IT IN MARCH. ..money is not the issue

Sonar version 1.xx has been available for over a year now. I fail to see your point.

Photoshop 6.0 was realeased around the same time as Sonar 1.0 - version 7.0 is available now and people don't get it for free so what makes you so special?

Sonar 1.3 was not a new product like I said before, just 1.0 with some bug fixes. Do you know how the software desgin/engineering process works? Every time you make a change and re-compile the program you change the build/version number. Cakewalk assigns big fixes in decimal increments (1.0 to 1.2 to 1.3). When the number in front of the decimal point changes (1.0 to 2.0) its is because you are practically dealing with a new product.

Consider yourself lucky that Cakewalk actually includes updates in retail products. Most other companies don't even bother and make you download and install it YOURSELF (Emagic for one...)

I don't work for Cakewalk, I'm just using some common sense...

Do you even realize how much ADDITIONAL stuff comes with 2.0 that 1.x didn't have?
 
I just bought a 2002 Ford and now they came out with 2003 Fords, I think those capitalist pigs should buy me a new one.
Imagine....improving a product year after year and then selling it,why thats unspeakable.
Come to think of it I saw a band perform a week ago Iwent to see them last night and they made me pay a cover charge again... WHEN WILL THIS INSANITY STOP!!!!!
