Hey folks!

I'm hoping to solicit comment/additional perspective on this new work I've just completed.

It's a little Coldplay-ish ... but I was doing this before them. :D

Up and Down

Thanks!

I think it sounds pretty good here. I'm having streaming issues for some reason, but the general feel of teh tune is good, and the sounds seem well mixed together. I'll listen again later, and see if I can get a better connection, but I enjoyed what I heard.....good tune man....

Beautiful song.. I have zero suggestions for improvement. Okay, maybe the vocals get a little loud there at the end - but it may be a synergy thing with the string pad sound, together overpowering the rhythm section a bit. A bit. I love the drum sounds. Very natural. This has a little Stone Temple Pilots vibe to it. Nice work.

PS - what china cymbal?

Very nice arrangement! Great overall sound. You're right! It does sound a little coldplay-ish, but it's different enough to be original (and you harmonize better than coldplay IMO) :-). Cool mix, awesome levels, very pro-sounding.

Great stuff ...

Ed - you know I appreciate your input, bud. Thanks for chiming in. I hope your ISP/Stream issue gets sorted out quickly. You know that I simply appreciate your perspective, it is valued tremendously.

Casey - Zyljian ... wait ... I have to spell check ... whoops .. Zyldjian -- that's the make. One might think I didn't rep them in the 70's, but I did. Oops. I'd not thought STP (the racer's edge :D), but I see the comparison too. Interesting. Thanks bud!

Danny - Like I said, I'm not neo-Coldplay, I'm PRE- ... wait ... that's an absurd way to gauge the biz ... lol ... but it's true. This was written when CP's crew were in diapers. What's new is old ... but that's not new. Thanks for the input!

Best,

Kev-

Excellent - what size and model?

I don't know, so I'll ask Frank, Casey. It might take a little bit ... he gets really busy sometimes.

My drummer is the guy who runs "Smart Loops" ... they're the drums that come w/ Sonar?

I've known him for years ... and he's a great guy ... but he's so busy and on the go, it sometimes can take a little bit for his reply ... it's spotty.

Yet, I'll ask him and let you know.

Best,

Nice tune Kev. The start of the song has a flavor of Cat Stevens. Sounds great on the top end but it gets muddy in the mid range during the middle parts from all the phasiness and keys, guitar and vocals. Do you have any from this century? :D :p :D

Don't take 30 years to finish your next song ya hear? We want another by next week  :D

I DL'd it from RP, and left a review over there....I'll just say, I really like it. Very well put together man...nice playing and recording. I agree that some of the vox may have a bit more volume at times, but that's a small issue. (I've never done anything remotely as smooth as this, so.... :D )

Nice tune man....well done.

Thanks Dogman- I just left you a reply over at RP -- Sorry about the delay, as I've been up in Maine on vacation ... which because I had so much catching up to do w/ maintaining the place, wasn't really much of a vacation at all! :D

NYMorningstar- Sorry about the 30 year delay! Religious hermitism has kept me very busy, what with all the praying and chanting and stuff. :D I'm currently working on another that I'll post up soon! Thanks for the mix help btw ... I always listen to gain the perspective. Working solo like I do, I've only got one set of ears to mix with (mine). Adding yours helps greatly!

Best,

Nice song it sounds very professional, but don't seem to like the tonal aspect of you're voice, makes my think a bit to much about phil colins style vocals. Thought very good song.

I can't seem to escape my "age" ... but in that same frame, I gladly take a Phil Collins comparison! He's responsible for some terrific music.

Although there is absolutely nothing I can do about the tone of my voice, and I've bugged Mariah Carey right up to the restraining order (:D) I appreciate your input!
