Argumentative...
I've been browsing through all the audio interfaces,as usual, just dreaming of being able to touch one of their sexy bodies.

I usually have been looking solely at USB interfaces but recently have just peaked around the corner at the firewire side. Firewire is obviously a dying breed. Do you feel the only con to purchasing firewire(assuming you already have a firewire card/port in your computer is limited mobility? For clarity, meaning every computer pretty much has USB, but it's more rarer to find firewire unless it's an older system.

Also, considering the amount of USB devices in today's computer world(mouse, keyboards, speakers, external hard drives) wouldn't it be a wiser choice to go with firewire considering you can still use your everyday items without having to share bandwidth(not sure if that is the correct term)?

I am pretty aware of the fact whatever comes a long will make do since it is truly on the lower end of the real cost spectrum. Just throwing some stuff out there for you to nibble on. :)

At what price range do you get out of the rookie equipment and into the intermediate/professional range?

I don't think there is enough difference between usb and firewire to mention. You can get a good interfa9ce for $300

I just see so many different ones and they have "award winning 'something'". It's like I'm trying to shop for bottle water at wal-mart and never know which one will taste best...but in reality, it's all water. Do you think since firewire is slowly dying out that the firewire interface market will eventually have lower prices?

btw, arcadeko...congrats on the 1,000th post in the book of Dave. I was sad when I saw I had missed it by an hour. :(
