Prophet-One

New member
I posted this in MP3 Mixing clinic but now it occurs to me here would be more appropriate:

Hey I'm sort of new to the board but everone seems to have intelligent feedback/advice.

So I figured I'd register up and share some of my music and any advice or help I can give. All the songs are rough version all need some tweaking and stuff but good none the less. Any advice or comments are apreciated.

So to keep you waiting no more:

I have 2 tracks up Ghosts and Northwest Saigon. Hope you enjoy

Whats up Prophet-One, welcome aboard~

That Northwest Saigon I though was pretty dope! Made me want to sit on my porch with some straw in my mouth, kicked back in the sun. Had a cool mellow feel to it. Wasnt feelin' the other one though but thats just my opinion. I think that sample in the background just didnt fit or something? So you up in BC huh? Keep it goin' for tha NW man!!

Peace,
B

Yeah the second track sample is a little off. Don't know if that was intentionally done or not. The First beat as a nice loop but I was expecting maybe to hear more of the begining mixed in a some point. THe monotny is broken with a part mid track that is off some. I think your working with some good sounds Just the arrangement needs work.

I'll have to agree.

Your rhythms are hard to follow. Especially when you changed the first beat up and the guitars played counter melodies. One guitar seemed to be ahead of the beat, and the other behind. Do you use any sequencing software, midi, or programming. Computers may be the devil to some, but I find that they simplify everything. Look into stuff like Sound Forge. I heard they have nice sampling/ sequencing capabilities.

don't let that ice up there melt.
I can't swim.
