WICKED tune man!!! i loved it! lose the drums maybe? sound alittle too drummachine like but they do help the song keep going. The vox are awesome! this is the same type of stuff that I am into!!! I would call it finished! you caught that "feel" that you get when you first write a tune and are totally into it! peace

Very cool of you to say. I got some complaints about the drums not fitting but I like them, just because they are different and don't seem to fit. I just like the way they sound.

Cool. Sounds a little Tom Petty & the HBs...
I like the drums...

'nother noob opinion here...since I know nothing about recording, I'll comment on the songwriting.

Good quirky feel to it; I like the drums because they add to the unusual quality of the song. Good harmonies, too! Lyrics are like what you talked about in your post...meaningful, but with a touch of amusement. I wouldn't exactly call it pop...unconventional, yes. It's a bit too short for a single, but it'd fit perfectly between two longer songs on an album, maybe before a more upbeat rocker.

My only beef: maybe just a touch less volume swelling on the guitar in the very beginning? It's a cool effect in this song but when there's no "solid" sound to accompany it (i.e. the drums) it sounded a bit jarring to me. Definitely keep it the way it is for the rest of the song, though.

Btw, quite impressive for an hour's effort!

Thanks. I'll have to listen carefully to what you mean about excessive swells in the beginning. In my mind, it sets the mood right away. I'll give what you say serious thought. I agree on the "between songs" comment. Thats how I hear it. I am trying to put together a cd now and I am thinking a lot about track sequence.
