Well... that's pretty blatant from a copyright point of view..... instant lawsuit if you ever make any money from the tune....

That recording is pretty rough, though -- major distortion (and not the good kind) on the whole song...... while your balances are ok, it sounds like you went nuts with a Finalizer and clipped all your levels in the process......... careful with that shit, if you don't use it properly you'll end up with something that sounds like Boray's EQ'd monitor mixes......... (don't ask, but it isn't good!)

Sometimes you gotta say phuck da technicalities and respect the hiphop and creativity in a track.......................Only thing I say is...........try to steer clear of the TV themes for a second(before some crab ass n*ggaz start bitin).............And about that law-suit shit........just send it to the radio and let them bump it, as long as you don't make a dime off it they can't sue. Sometimes you gotta treat tracks like fish, use a couple for bait until you catch the big one(a record deal). I was wonderin whether you even had some spit in you doggy...............................its love......................................................

A single track, pushed to its volume limit to distort for creative effect can be very cool..... the entire song, muddied and grossly overdistorted because of poor engineering, is definitely not.....

Respecting the song (regardless of the genre or style) is knowing how to balance creative effect and good engineering practice.

I mean, he's a rapper/producer and he just made the song last night, so I' sure he didn't have his engineer(if he has one) on hand in the wee hours of the morning. I didn't mean it in a "Leave it like it is, that's good enough!" sort of way. I'm quite sure he wil have something done to it(better mixing, perhaps compression on the voocals or certain drum samples or whatever was clipping) before he sends it to the radio. What I meant was, if it bangs(the lyrics combined with the major elements of the beat) without a professional touch, then imagine the final outcome(after a professional mixing/mastering session).

Thanks Attilah, I appreciate the feedback im glad you can get past the technical shit...BLUEBEAR...I post joints up here so cats can get basic feel for my shit...none of this is mastered so stop sweating that shit ok...Im not an engineer, i dont have a finalizer and level clipper and all that shit you yappin about ..I make a beat,make a rap I'll pay some non creative Tecno head like you to master my shit..get over it....What are you doing trying to burn my shit to cd's damn...

If your gonna post shit here, be prepared for honest, technical, sometimes expert advice, and when we tell you your shit doesn't sound good, just take the advice... Quit wasting your time posting and fix it if you want someone to say something good.

Just be glad most people around here don't really give critique on the artistical merit side... They're just trying to help you make it sound better.

What was your original intention on posting here? Just so we could hear it? What do you want us to say?

On the bright side I liked the way you mixed the sample in, even if you did steal it.
 
BTW, I'd have to agree with BlueBear. I listened to all your songs. What do you use for monitors? Cuz it practically fucked mine up...
 
I dont have monitors or trained ears. But I think the song was hot I liked the concept, and the the pace if your flow worked nicely. With the quick tounge lyric phase dying down I glad to hear emcees taking time with thier delivery.
 
On This site there is a mastering and mixing board right?... This is a rap/beats board right ..I post my shit to just get basic feedback on the content (beats/lyrics )If i wanted mastering feedback i'd post it there.. it seems like 99% of the people understood that before today( See My other posts) But bluebear,dolo,and now subtractor, have problems but its all gravy davy keep doing your thing I will... (I didnt know this was a professional engineer site Like hi d ho My ears aint that trained either.....)

I thought your rapping was good. Sounds like you got a good voice for it, and the words flow well.

I thought most of the content was kinda weak, but I'm not from the "hood" and my drug dealing days are over, and I sold my gun, so maybe I just don't "identify"... Overall though, it had a nice groove. Keep practicing and I'm sure you'll get your blingbling one of these days.
