Ok, I just started googling home recording and i came across this, i have a
Nexxtech 40 pa (2 mic inputs)
i have a peavy 120 watt amplifier
i have a 1/4" Y chord
i have a roland 30 watt cude amp, and 2 microphones,
i have a dell computer to record with, and i have speakers...
whats the best way to record with this?
thanks

P.s. when i run the mics into the pa then into the com, its too bassy, how do i stop this?

A PA might be a bit crude for recording, depending on the mixer.

Give us as much info as you can, what are the specs on the computer, what mics do you have what are you trying to record, how many tracks do you need at once?

You will probabaly want to buy an interface for the PC. THere are a couple decent ones for sale right now in the want ads forums, or you can look at zzounds or somewhere. The things youa re looking for is
# of inputs (more = more $)
Built in pres
bit rate (24 bit, don't go less)
AD/DA converters
how it hooks to the comp, USB 2.0 is good, firewire better (they are similiar, and i have heard this "fact" debated, so take with a grain of salt) and you can also get one that is an actual PCI card in your comp.

The things people debate about with regard to quality of PC interfaces are
1. Quality of pres (most bargian interfaces have crappy pres that you will want to replace, but some nice ones can be fine, and will probabaly quickly replace the PA option).
2. Quality of the digital/analog converters. (again, you tend to get what you pay for).

Hope this helps to start.
