*sigh*
Objective: quality grand piano sounds for playback only (no recording/mixing at this point, maybe later). Basically wanted good-feeling keyboard to play in conjunction with other instruments I'm learning.
I picked up a Studiologic SL880 controller, a used EMU 6400 Ultra (still en route), and an inexpensive keyboard amp. I thought I was set.
Now from what I'm reading, I apparently need a sequencer in addition to just a sampler to make this all work? Is that correct? I hadn't anticipated (or budgeted for) another piece of equipment.
I wasn't planning to necessarily connect any of this to a computer. I have an old laptop that I could dedicate to this, but I'm afraid it doesn't have the horsepower to do much (PII-366, 320MB RAM, 14GB HD, running XP Pro). On the upside, it does have both USB and SCSI connections via the docking station.
Not sure how to proceed here, since I'm not sure if I have all the parts I need.
Thanks in advance,
-Dan
