Any comments/comparisons. I know the powercore is "open ended" so more plugs will be available. But I'm really lusting after the Universal comps.

at the moment the general consensus is that the reverbs are better on the powercore and the comps are better on the uad-1(excluding the plate 140 plug) . Personally i own a uad-1 . But i have some experience with the plugs included with the powercore. And i can only say that they are right ....

at the moment i'm lusting after a powercore so i will have best of both worlds. I personally feel that you should get the one you feel is best for you at the moment and then save up and get the other one.

Do realize that there is a lot of talk at the moment about the focusrite liquid mix dsp thingie and the ssl duende dsp system. And considering the forthcoming pci to pci-express change over, Universal Audio is still in the dark about maybe putting out a possible firewire/usb2/pci-express uad-2 dsp system. I personally stil feel the uad is still worth it in the long run cos i don't feel i need to change DAW config. but keep these things in mind or else you might buy something that you would'nt have bought if other products were on the market.

any way hope this advice helped.

greetings,

Thomas
