Bring Back Transfat!
Thus far I've been running Power Tracs Pro and a SoundBlaster Live. One mic reduced to 1/8" into SB, line out of SB to my receiver. O.k., for Xmas I wound up with a Darla24, a Behringer 1602, and a 8X burner. My assumption is (lacking set up instructions) that I run 2 outs from the mixer to the 2 ins on the Darla and then select a stereo pair out of Darla into my receiver to monitor and play back. Does this sound right? If not can anybody turn me on to a location depicting wiring scenarios/schemes? I intend to to mic "real" drums and guitar amp.
Thanks a bunch...

Hi,
yup, thats one way of doing it, will work fine.
I have a very similiar setup (Darla24 and a spirit
14/2 mixer). I run two aux sends to the darla,
and my main outs from the mixer to my Amp.

Since Darla has eight outputs, I run the 8 outputs
back to my mixer, so I can mix and eq with my
mixer, because I like faders opposed to a mouse.

A lot of folks in here will say that's a bad idea,
and they are probably right. However, it makes
things much easier, and when I get down to Mastering,
I will probably reroute everything to ensure the
best sound quality.

The advantage of doing it my way, at least temp.,
is you can control a mix very quickly, plus
the chix dig it when you play with the mixer.

Feel free to Email me if you have problems with
the Darla. I had a few, and with a few phone calls,
I got it solved, so I hope your luck is better
then mine, but once I got it going, it has
been absolutely perfect, and a nice sounding card.

if it were me, Id do this:

Run Aux 1 and 2 from your mixer to your Darla INS.
Run your Darla OUTS to ch 11-12 on your mixer.
Run your MAIN OUTS on your mixer to your reciever

That way, you can dial ch 1-10 into your comp with your aux send knobs..keeping both channels seperate, if you wish... YOu can mix with faders on the way IN to your machine (I wouldnt advise using your faders to mix after tracking).. and you can also send your prerecorded signal to headphones or reciever, however you choose.
