Looking for Two track recorder for bouncing and mastering
For fun and a new challenge I'm going to be recording on 4 track analog (tascam 246 and mx 5050 4 track) for 2012. Ive moved to a new place so im just leaving pro tools rig in it's box. I don't want to look at the damn thing. But I'm not ready to sell it.

So what is a good mastering recorder with hd and burner. So I can bounce back and forth to. and then master when I'm done. I've been looking at the tascam dv-ra1000hd. Is there anything better. I'll be using apogee converters. So thats not a issue. Thanks

If you are going to record the master to a digital recorder (and you are also going to use your standalone, Apogee converters)...why bother getting a standalone digital 2-track recorder...?... just record into your computer.
You can then do some final mastering in the digital domain, and output to CD from there.
I don't see any benefit in using a 2-track digital recorder...IMO.

I initially thought you meant an analog, 2-track tape recorder for masters/mixes.
