The first song is American Waste by Black Flag (originally), a song I recorded months ago, in the infancy of my sojourn as a recreational music player/recorder. I remixed/remastered using things I've learned over the months, and I think I got it in half-decent shape (the kick drum mic I used back then limited my efforts, so the kick's got issues). Let me know what you think of it if you have time, and what you would change. Musicianship will be far less than total with these. When it comes to the procedure I go through when playing and recording, I'm "in and out", like I'm buying a pack of smokes at a 7-11.

This other one is Wichita Skyline, a Drag the River song I did an hour ago. It's not terrible, but it sounds tepid as hell. It's not a good representation of the original for several reasons... starting with I can't really play guitar beyond power chords and my singing sucks. Curious to hear if anyone sees (hears) anything redeeming in it, or if it should be shitcanned.

Thanks.

I can't give you any constructive advice, but I can say I LOVED the vocals on Wichita Skyline.

....something wonky with the compression, tho, but I can't guarantee that it's not on my end

Huh. Wasn't expecting that! Thanks. Check out the original by Drag the River to hear it done right, though. :)
