Hello, I just got the delta44 and am having problems recording at 96kHz. When I record something and play it back, it sounds really slow and distorted. When I record at 44.1 it sounds fine. I've matched the sample rate in cakewalk with that of the delta's control panel config but it still does it. I'm using 24bits at both 44.1 and 96khz, it just seems the 96khz won't record properly. Could it be my computer system.

Is it even worth it to use 96khz as opposed to using 44.1 when you're using 24bit sound?

Also, is it better to convert down to 16bit@44.1khz for cd burning using something like sound forge to convert(ie: save as: 44.1...) or to change my recording sample rate and record the full mix at 44.1?

Thanks....

Slow playback indicates an improper playback sample rate. Check your software and make sure that the delta driver is selected for both playback and record, and you might even lock the sample rate in at 96khz via the Delta control panel.

There may be limitations based on your OS/software/driver configuration. Check M-Audio's website and be sure to pick up some recent drivers if you haven't done so already.
