Two new songs for critique

Hey Moohead....

I just listened to Beautiful on a pair of cheap headphones... I like the general sound of the instruments, and they are mixed pretty well. The drums could be brought up a bit, though. Overall, the mix of the instruments sounds okay.

The vocals, on the other hand, are waaay too loud. If you're having a tough time making the vocals pop when you seat them in your music bed, you might need to EQ the music to give the vocals some space. If you haven't tried to lower the vocals, try lowering them until you can hear them just enough to understand the lyrics. As they are now, they overshadow everything, allowing space for nothing - not good.

On a note of musicianship, the vocal's timing needs work. On a general note, they're okay, but there's a few spots where they're not in sync with the music. It sounds like the music is timed very well, which makes the un-synced vocals become a sore-spot.

You also might want to compress your vocals if you're not... and compress them a bit more if you are already. The volume on the vocals changes a bit too much.

Good comments. We all start somewhere! I am in awe of some of the things I am hearing on here. I am a sponge here to soak up ideas and experience.

I need to get this song to sound more dynamic, and the vocals have been needlessly brought up and distorted (I don't want to sound like me on this one!)

Everything sounds too thin and jammed up compared to the good work on this site. I will try some new things.
