Hey, guys
I have two mixes

This mix is one of my instrumental "compositions"
I was wondering if I should be eq'ing anything or if it is fine the way it is?

This is a metal mix that I have been working on.The instrumental was already mixed and mastered, so I just tried to fit the vocals in. The vocals were really dry sounding after I compressed them so I tried my best with the reverb. I just don't want the screams to be sitting so "far away". The clean vocals sound fine, maybe to loud?:o

Thanks :thumbs up:

First mix is a bit bright maybe. A bit thin. There's a bit of kick to balance it for about two seconds at 0.50, but nothing else.

Interestingly, I'm hearing the same thing going on with the metal mix. It's a bit...aluminum.

That's very interestingl. :)
I have never considered taking anything off of the high end with eq. In fact, I have boosted a bit on high frequencies for the metal mix.
For the first mix, at fifty, I took out the trumpets who tend to be bright. That may have helped.

Thank you

You're welcome. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. You've never considered taking anything off the high end with eq, and that's why your mix sounds like it does.
