I know it is possilbe to have two mice hooked up to one computer, but they only control the same pointer. Can you have two mice, each with their own pointer?

I think this would be really useful for mixing. One mouse in each hand!

I'd lose my ever-lovin' mind :)

Actually, I don't think Windows allows for 2 separate mice controls. There are a bunch of different options though ....you can get a control surface for fairly cheap these days, then you have actual real sliders to work with. Or, you can use keyboard macro software like QuicKeys and setup keyboard macros for different functions.

Shit... That would be like brushing your teeth and combing your hair at the same time. :D

Shouldn't be any tougher than eating at the "Y" and slipping a couple fingers in and out the old glory hole at the same time.:D

As long as they are USB you can have multiple mice and/or trackballs, but they will only control one pointer. What you are looking for is the cutting edge tech where two CPUs (not a dual CPU, two separate PCs, each with their own display) share a common sound processing task. I do not know enough of this to comment further, I just know it's out there.

Bleeding edge, baby.

I just think the concept is a bit silly because even with a mouse in each hand... you'd only be able to consciously control one thing at a time... (at least using a mouse pointer). I think you'd be much happier exploring the avenue of using a control surface along with 1 mouse... :D

Don't get me wrong....It is a novel idea!

I'll take that bet!

Back when I built computers for a living, I used to build two at a time mousing with each hand. It used to freak my coworkers out.

Still, I'm not sure 2 mice is the way to go anyway. I think a dedicated control surface would be a more intuitive way to work with audio apps, particularly for those that can't control 2 mice at once.

I realize that a control surface would be ideal. I was thinking that if you had two mice, each with a scroll wheel you could move two sliders at the same time; something you can't do with one mouse (at least I don't think you can)

Well with a control surface... you could move a whole bunch of channels at the same time with one hand! I'm sure you'd love it. I use a control surface for faders and panning, and a MIDI keyboard bound to the transport, markers, and a bunch of often used commands, along with my mouse and my workflow is so much more streamlined.

Good luck

I'm hoping my wife will get me one of those for X-mas. :)
