Two Different Peavey VMP-2s?

hello. i just bought a peavey vmp-2 (finally!). i noticed that mine is the only one i have ever seen like this: on the left, it says "VMP 2" in black...all of the others i have seen have a black square on the left, and it says "VMP 2" is white.

i'm just wondering...does anyone know if one design is newer (or older) than the other? i know they havn't been produced in years, and i don't know much about the history of the unit. or am i the only one who cares? probably.

Well, my "VMP-2" is in light gray on a dark grey rectangle, that is on top of a black rectangle that says "vaccuum tube microphone preamp"
