Two B3's good choice as overhead?

I'm recording with a tascam dm 24 and Hammerfall 5296 soundcard.
I own a drumkit with a killer sound and have a beta 57 on snare, two sm 57's on my toms, an Atm 25 in the kick and an AT4041 above my hihat.
The only thing I'm not shure about are my OH's.

Would recording with two SP B3's be a good choice?

Thanx.

B3s are great for drum OH.

In fact, I have used a single B3 for drum OH, set to omni, works great. The frequency response when set to omni is really well suited for cymbals.

Using a XY pair set to cardioid sould work as well or maybe even better, or you could try spaced pair, lots of options.

If you wanna go for other applications where you could use the different patterns of the B3, then go for it. If not, the B1's are great for OH and less expensive.

The B1 and the B3 do not sound the same. The B3 has a little more color to it - and to me sounds like a cross between the more neutral B1 and the more colored C1.
