I'm trying to hook my mixer to my 13" tv so I can listen to cable tv through my monitors. I am currently using an rf modulator so I can use a DVD player on the tv. Hooking up the DVD player is not the problem and I'm able to listen and view anything I want. I just can't get sound through my monitors when just the tv is on. I've tried a few different approaches but I still can't figure it out.
Any suggestions? Do I need a selector box of some form? Thanks.

Can't you run the cable box into the DVD player and tap the DVD player's outs into the mixer?

No cable box. But I did try running the rf mod to the DVD player and then go out to the mixer. That only allows what's in the DVD player to come out of the monitors when it's on. The rf mod, just like on a regular TV, has inputs with a video in and a stereo L/R in. The DVD player has the same outs. Hope this info will help.

It's like I need a stereo out on the rf moduator that's just not there. That's why I'm thinking some form of router box is in order??? Thanks again.

OK, I thought you were watching cable TV  I suppose this is a cable-ready TV with no outputs, eh?

If you get really desperate, you can tap the TV's speaker lead across a 1K resistor  :o

call your cable company. They should bring you a free cable box. Mine did

How does that work and how in the heck do you know about that? Heh.

I'll call up the cable company and ask.
Thanks for the help!! :)
