Hello guys. I have a PC with built in video, and analog TV out. When I set it on NTSC, I see the image in color but I get a flickering on the screen, the same as what you get when you film a tv or computer screen with a video camera. Now, when I use PAL-N (local Argentina system) I get an image in black and white but without flickering.

What can I do to avoid the flickering?

I already tried turning the monitor off, supposing it made interference with the TV but it didn't work. I also connected a VCR to the same input and it looks fine, so I guess it's not a TV problem.

Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Andrés

It is probably your refresh rate, try setting the refresh rate to 60hz and see if it makes a difference. Hope you know where to set it, if not ............ contol panel > display > settings > advanced > monitor :)

thanks, Jeyan. Gonna try that. Although when you tell the software that the device connected is a TV, it doesn't allow for rate changes and it gets stucked in a number. I don't remember if it's 60 or 65, I don't have the pc here.

Usually TVs run at a constant 60hz in US(NTSC) If remember correctly the TV runs at 50hz in Asia (Pal) I am not sure what Argentina is but this issue is definitly a refresh rate issue. You can easily rectify it. Good Luck!

Just wanted to update this since I found the cause of the flickering.
The TV out stops the flickering when the cable TV coaxial cable is disconnected from the TV. So I guess this means that there's a grounding issue.
Cheers, Andrés
