Ok i gotta question....... i wanna cop a turntable for mixing but this is my question i have the emu 0404 and an audiobuddy i wanna record str8 from a turntable to a computer and i was looking at getting the numark PT01 now would i need to go from the PT01 to the audio buddy then to the soundcard in and record mono...... or do I go str8 to the soundcard?

it will work without a RIAA preamp but that tt is far from useful as a mixing deck

im confused wit this...... do u mean like i would be able to scratch?

are you wanting to scratch or are you just wanting to sample off vinyl?

For recording it will be fine but for mixing/scratching (i.e. pitching the record to the right tempo and cuing it on beat) it is too light and the motor will not have enough torque.

could anybody recommend another turntable setup for maybe 100 - 200 that i could get that would allow me to be able to scratch and just record..... i ask about scratching because i could see myself trying that out for like hooks/beat breaks/ and other stuff like that

Look for a used Technics 1200 mkII, you should be able to find one for about that much

You cannot scratch on a belt drive turntable.

Look into a used Technics 1200/1210 Mk2 or a new Gemini TT-04 - both should fill your needs nicely.

Sounds good 'cause, even if you later get a direct drive for scratching, you still have a use for the PT-01 for when you go digging.
