Turning off Headphones on Headset?

I've just recently purchased a Headset, that is USB. Now since it's USB I just can't unplug the headphone line, so how would I go about turning off the headphones, so sound can come out of my normal speakers but I can just use the microphone? I like to wrap the headphones around my neck and just use the microphone. Any help ?
 
You could go into the settings of your DAW/the audio settings of your computer and switch the output device from your USB headset to the computer speakers. Keep the input device set as your USB headset if you still want to use the microphone.
 
I tried that before and it didn't work, then you reminded of it and I tried it again. So now it works. Thanks
