I have a singular T-3 that I have used as an overhead as an experiment.
The sound is warm and big but not real distinct as with small diaphram mics.
Possibly it is the fact thediaphrams are bigger and thicker and dont respond as quickly to the transients. It worked better as a room mic than overheads.
That is my experiance anyway.
I ended up buying some Kel Audio HM-1s for overheads and have been very happy with them. They are darker than a lot of the cheaper pencil type overheads. I switch between them and a pair of Oktava MC012s depending on the sound I want.
Oviously, my opinion and taste apply here.
