I have a chance to buy an AT 4060 tube mic for $350 used.

The only problem is one of the cables is missing and the power supply is beat up,the mic looks fine.

Does anyone know prices and avalibility on power supplys and cables?
Are they universal,or do I have to buy one from AT?

They are going to try and get one at the store,I want to make sure it works first.

As far as the power supply, does it control the multipatterns on a tube mic?
If the mic is cardiod, with a differant power supply can it be multipattern?

Thanks,
Pete

Museman,
I don't know about the power supply issue, but I do know that changing the voltage will NOT change the pattern. Whether a mic is cardioid, omni, figure 8 is in the mic construction, not the power supply.

Ya I kind of figured,I was just wondering about the tube mics with unlimited variable patterns, must be a remote control of some kind?

Thanks,
Pete

Actually, that's not true. Dual diaphragm, multi-pattern, tube mics achieve the different patterns by varying the polarizing voltage on the back diaphragm, which can be controlled from the power supply.
