Tube amp modification question

I've been doing some mods on my amplifier but theres one I'm not sure of, basically its a fender-marshall switch. Right now all it does is switch between 2 tone stacks, but I wanted to change it to a 3PDT switch so that it will also change the cathode bypass capacitor and coupling capacitor in the first gain stage. But I was wondering after this is done, would it be safe to use the switch while the amp is running? My concern is that it might damage a tube or send a loud sound through the speaker.

well........

a lot of boost switches, or bright swithces, or deep switches are just switching capacitors in and out. You shouldn't have any problems becuase you really can't change the voltage across the capacitor instantly. The take time (meaning much less than a second) to charge up and discharge, so you probably woun't hear any clicks or anything....
