From what everyone is telling me concerning my Cubase/Motu828mkII setup
is that it's a bus issue.
> MPC3000(using 1-4 analog inputs of the mkII)
> MC909(using 5-6 analog inputs of the mkII)
> MP-7(using 7-8 analog inputs of mkII)
> VS-1680(spdif/out-->spidif/in mkII)
I need to set things up propperly in the "VST Connections" In/Outputs
I am able to record on all tracks now with no problem but i want to visually monitor track to setup audio levels before recording and i am not able to do so. I can only see tracks 1-2 and can only see other tracks after i have recorded them. In the "audio activity channel 1" window i only see activity from tracks 1-2. How do visually set the levels? i have read the manual and although i am doing what is said i am missing bunches of info. Sorry to be a pain with this issue

If you want to set levels on cubase, and you inputs are setup in the VST conections window, you have to use the input channels. Click the small red fader on the left of the mixer window. This will show you the levels for all the inputs you have setup in the VST connections. If you are short of channels - just add more busses and connect them accordingly.

Where is this redfader you speak of?
how do i set this up as i do not see one :confused:
thanks

Just right click on a track in the mixer to add another track. To monitor the input, right click on the drop down window below the extended mixer(about halfway down once you extend the mixer) and choose meter. Record enable the track and wala. Set your channel faders to 0.00 and use the input gain to set your initial volume from your source. You want to get as close to 0 as possible without going over(clipping).
