Trying to save gems on old 78's

I've got my filthy mitts on a bunch of 78's that have most of the Giants of the 20's-40's on them. They range from a little crackly to the land of serious pits and valleys. Any ideas on the best way to pull the music on them into the digital world. In other words: what order and amount for things like normalize, noise redux, click and pop? This old guy with old tunes thanks you.
