Trying to record live video with Focusrite, Reason and Video Capture Program

I'm trying to record a live performance with my Focusrite audio interface, Reason 12 and VSDC video capture. The video is fine, however, it's either one or the other on audio. I can get the mic in one video, and the beat in another, but not at the same time.

I tried using Bandicam, and though I was able to get both the mic and beat to work, the two sounds were out of sync. I'm using a Shure SM58.

Any tips?
 
It sounds like you're trying to record it all into VSDC at once. I suspect you'll have better luck recording your audio into reason then syncing that to the video in a video editor later.
 
Concur with the others - record audio and video separately and slap 'em together afterwards.
 
Thanks for all the advice. That makes sense. I'll try recording separately.
 
Yeah, I’ve never done both at the same time. Too many headaches. I’m about to do a video tomorrow, and while I’ll video the actual audio take, I will still have to align them together in post.
