Ok, here's the deal. My 2 buddies in another city play guitar and drums. I sing. They use Cubase SX. I haven't picked a solution yet. I am deciding between something like an Aardvard soundcard/Pro Audio 9/PC or a digital 8 track with Flash Memory/hard drive/CD-RW. Basically, what I need to be able to do is record a vocal track in time with their respective tracks. They would be doing the final mix. What do you think? Thanks.

It sounds like I found my answer-the MR-8 used for recording tracks dry and then importing them to N-Track where I can then import my pal's tracks in to mix. This stuff is fun!

I am a newbie, so don't trust me :). But, I would say "stay simple". Get a good mic preamp and a good vocal EFX unit. Buy a simple, yet acclaimed, soundcard to interface with (like M-Audio 410). That should give you good results. Let us know how it turns out for you.
